The Past, Present and Future of Medicine SAM & RCPE Conference will take place on the 12th and 13th of September 2016 at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre. Professor Derek Bell, National Institute for Health Research Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care Northwest London (NIHR CLAHRC NWL) Programme Director and President of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (RCPE), will host the conference. Approximately 600-700 delegates are expected to attend this years event.
This event will combine historical aspects of medicine with a glimpse into the future for healthcare across a broad range of clinical topics. The audience will consist of a spectrum of healthcare specialists ranging from doctors in training through to senior consultants, nursing, physiotherapist and pharmacists. Lay representatives, historians and patients will also be welcome to attend (acutemedicine.org.uk: 2016).
CLAHRC NWL will have a strong presence at this year’s event. Not only will the event be hosted by CLAHRC NWL’s Programme Director, but there will be a series of presentations by representatives of the CLAHRC NWL team and posters highlighting important breakthrough topics and initiatives in healthcare improvement.
